Facebook has made some changes to its main News Feed, a press release announced on Wednesday.

According to the press release, Facebook has, "updated the comment style and made it easier to see which comments are direct replies to another person."

Facebook has also made improvements to increase readability on the page, these changes include:

  • Increased colour contrast to make text more legible for users.

  • Larger link previews so everything is easier for users to read.

  • Updated icons and Like, Comment, and Share buttons that are larger and easier to tap.

  • Circular profile pictures to show who’s posting or commenting on each post.

The steps taken to improve navigation include:

  • Option to see where a link will take a user before they click it.

  • Option to see whose post users are commenting on, reacting to, or reading while they're in the post.

  • Prominent back button to help users to return to the News Feed once they have finished reading a post.
