KARACHI: The trio of Mubashir, Shahmeer and Muzammil starred as Bounce Club thrashed Karachi Colts 57-29 in the Independence Day basketball tournament at the Arambagh floodlit court on Sunday evening.

Mubashir turned out to be the most effective scorer with a tally of 18. Shahmeer and Muzammil also proved their mettle ontributing 13 and 10 points respectively as winners led 22-11 at half time.

The duo of Safeer and Taimoor were the only scorers who finished in double figures with a tally of 13 and 10 respectively for the losers.

Playing their first match, the Bounce Club started aggressively winning the first quarter 16-2 but to the sheer surprise of spectators, they trailed the second 6-9.

Again, the winners were on a scoring spree winning the third quarter 19-4. The losers again fought back giving a tough time to their opponents bur it was too late as Bounce won 16-14.

This was Karachi Colts second straight defeat in as many days as they had lost to Askari Alphas on the opening day.

In the second match, fancied Nishtar Club sent Malir Trojans packing 47-31 after leading 29-17 at half time.

Talha Amjad, Shabbar and Haroon made their mark for the winners scoring 19, 12 and 10 points respectively.

Abbas and Bilal contributed 13 and nine respectively for the losers.
