LAHORE: It sounds strange when a person who was born rich talks about revolution, says Chief of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Tahirul Qadri, referring to Nawaz Sharif’s speeches during his GT Road rally.

Addressing a PAT core committee meeting, Mr Qadri said, “He (Nawaz) has been architect, engineer, promoter and beneficiary of the current system for the last 35 years but now (he was) trying to rebel against the same system because it has stopped serving him.”

“Instigating people against the Supreme Court is an open sedition and the state institutions should take note of it. The trouble with Nawaz Sharif is that he cannot stand the title of ‘former-prime minister’ (being used) with his name after being disqualified. That is the only reason he is losing his emotional balance. His party must take care of him,” he suggested.

Saying that now Nawaz was asking what was his crime, Qadri said, “The PAT also has the same question for him; what was the fault of those 14 people who were martyred on June 17, 2014 (in Model Town). Why were they fired at? There were dozens who got bullets pumped into their bodies and maimed for life. One of them has undergone 10 surgeries and is still struggling for life.”

Meanwhile, Tahirul Qadri also rang up the family of a nine-year old boy who was run over by ex-premier’s security convoy and offered his condolences for his said demise.
