CHAKWAL: A man brutally killed his wife in Thaneel Fatohi village located some six km off Chakwal city, police sources said on Wednesday.

The accused was arrested who confessed to having committed the crime.

“The accused attacked his wife with a knife. As a result the victim received multiple gashes and died on the spot,” a police official told Dawn.

The deceased was a mother of three, two sons and one daughter, of nine to 14 years of age.

“The accused was a drug addict and was also reeling under poverty as he did not have any source of livelihood. It seems he murdered his wife out of frustration,” Chaudhry Nasir Iqbal, a notable of the village told Dawn.
