MANSEHRA: While deciding to hold rallies to express solidarity with ousted prime minister and its leader, Nawaz Sharif, the PML-N Mansehra chapter has formally invited Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to contest the National Assembly election from the district to become the next prime minister.

“We will take to the streets on August 3 to express solidarity with deposed prime minister Nawaz Sharif. We also invite Shahbaz Sharif to contest the National Assembly election from here (Mansehra) to become the prime minister,” PML-N MPA Saleh Mohammad Khan told a party meeting held here on Tuesday to discuss future strategy in light of the Supreme Court’s ruling to disqualify Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

The meeting was attended among others by district nazim Sardar Said Ghulam, tehsil nazim Khurram Khan Swati and PML-N district president Zafar Mehmood.

Mr Saleh said former religious affairs minister Sardar Mohammad Yousuf had formally invited Shahbaz Sharif to contest the National Assembly election from Mansehra and that the party leadership was seriously considering the invitation.

PML-N MPA claims leadership mulling option

He said the PML-N was united under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif, who didn’t yield to pressure and conspiracies hatched against him and his family internationally,” he said.

On the occasion, the PML-N district president said there were no differences in the party and that all party activists would come onto the streets to show solidarity with the deposed prime minister on Aug 3.

GOVT FLAYED: ANP leader and former chief minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti on Tuesday said the PTI government in the province had done nothing for the people’s development and that its all claims about change in the people’s life were false.

“It’s our (ANP) government, which put the province on the way to development. However, the PTI government is doing nothing for the people’s development. Instead, it is making false claims about changing the people’s life,” he told a public meeting here in Badadi area.

Former JUI-F MNA Laiq Mohammad Khan, the younger brother of PTI leader Azam Khan Swati, announced the joining of the ANP on the occasion.

The ANP leader said he was optimistic that his party would win the 2018 elections in KP to serve the people.
