QUETTA: The Commander of Southern Command, Lt Gen Aamer Riaz, said on Friday that Pakistan faced a lot of challenges and these could only be tackled through unity.

Speaking at the inaugural session of a three-day Model United Nations Youth Conference at the Boys Scouts headquarters here, Gen Riaz welcomed the youth coming from across the country to take part in the conference and said that people belonging to all provinces had made Pakistan like a beautiful bouquet. He said that the country could withstand any threat and challenge if its people united.

“Pakistan’s future is now in the hands of youth and I am sure that these young people will guarantee the development and prosperity of the country,” he said.

Gen Riaz said that all people and nations living in the country were unique and possessed unique skills, but it was necessary that these capabilities were used for positive activities.

He said that by doing so both Pakistan and Balochistan would make progress rapidly.
