HYDERABAD: Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz-Arisar (JSQM-A) chairman Dr Mir Alam Marri has alleged that administrations of the central prisons of Karachi and Hyderabad have subjected party activists and a district chapter leader to torture in solitary confinement.

In a statement issued here on Monday, he said party activist Ashiq Hussain Keerio was tortured in the central prison of Hyderabad while in Karachi central jail, Jamshoro district president Nadir Hussain Bugti was subjected to maltreatment.

Condemning the torture against them, he said the jail administration in Karachi kept nationalist workers in solitary confinement unnecessarily on the pretext of security risk.
