KHUZDAR: A moderate 4.4-magnitude earthquake struck parts of Mastung district on Sunday morning, forcing people to rush to open places.

According to the Met office, the depth of the earthquake was 11 kilometres and its epicenter was located about 35km southwest of Mastung.

The residents of Mastung town and surrounding areas rushed out to open places for safety, leaving their houses abandoned.

No casualty or damage to property was reported from any area of the district. However, cracks were reported in some mud-houses.
