LAHORE: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education will announce the result of matriculation annual examination 2017 on Tuesday.

According to a board official, board chairman Chaudhry Ismail will announce the names of position holders on Monday.

More than 227,000 candidates appeared in the annual exams (Grade X).

WORKSHOP: A two-day training workshop on “NGOs and the government – working together towards a common goal” concluded at the Forman Christian College.

The training was part of a project titled “Social welfare department: The provincial face of regulation and interaction with NGOs” being conducted by Centre for Public Policy and Governance (CPPG) with the support of the USAID Small Grants and Ambassador’s Fund Program (SGAFP).

Interactive sessions covering aspects such as the public-private partnership, conflict management, team building, negotiation skills, among other topics were held.

Officials of the industries and women development departments and NGO representatives across Punjab participated in it.

Speaking on the occasion, CPPG Director Dr. Saeed Shafqat said fostering trust between the government and the civil society was the need of the hour.

About the widening gap between NGOs and the government, Dr. Shafqat said: “We are conscious of the concerns and constraints on both sides and are continuously trying to address them and bringing it to the attention of policy makers.”

Rector FC College Dr. James Tebbe said: “The government and NGOs often do not speak much to each other. They should have mutual cooperation.
