ISLAMABAD: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Thursday directed the police to provide complete details of the properties owned by Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan and Pakistan Awami Tehreek’s chief Tahirul Qadri in Islamabad, Lahore and Mianwali to enable the court to proceed against them in the case of torture on a former senior superintendent of police (SSP) of Islamabad.

The court gave the police till August 24 to provide the property details after which the court will attach these properties and they will ultimately be confiscated in case both the accused do not surrender before the ATC in the said case.

ATC Judge Shahrukh Arjumand on Thursday also recorded the statement of ex-police officer Ghulam Murtaza. Last week, the court had directed the police to submit details of the properties owned by Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri so that the process for the attachment of their properties can be initiated.

The court had directed the SHO of the Secretariat police station to submit details of the properties of the suspects so that proceedings under section 88 (attachment of property of person absconding) of the Criminal Procedure Code could be initiated against the suspects.

The ATC sought the property details of the suspects in connection with their alleged involvement in an attack on SSP Junejo during the 2014 sit-ins in the capital.
