IN the aftermath of the JIT report, the confrontation between the government and the opposition has intensified and some media outlets have taken sides with the government or opposition. They are behaving in an irresponsible and immature manner. It wouldn’t be misplaced to say that they are inviting Pakistan’s foes within and outside to exploit the situation.
Some media channels are playing the role of devil’s advocate by promoting rifts in an already-divided society. PEMRA should take note of the jaundiced views of these channels. The path they tread at present is in fact a dangerous path and will harm all. The need of the hour is a neutral and impartial media.

Should the media start towing the governments line and become oblivious to the reality and the ground situation. What a shame it would be to act in such a fashion.. Media keeps us informed in this information age. We do ot need any internal or external enemies . We are our own worst enemies.
Be brave and bear the good or the bad news. It may help us build a new nation strong enough notto wilt under any pressure.
