A 16-year-old boy has been charged with 15 offences, including grievous bodily harm, following the London acid attacks last week.
The boy, who cannot be named because of his age, was arrested after five moped riders were sprayed with a corrosive substance during a 90-minute period last week.
One man was left with life-changing injuries, police said. At least two of the people attacked were drivers for food delivery services, Deliveroo and UberEATS.
A 15-year-old boy, who was also arrested, has been released on bail.
Amid mounting public concern, the British government is considering increasing sentences for acid attacks to a maximum of life.
Home Secretary Amber Rudd wrote in The Sunday Times newspaper that those who use noxious liquids as a weapon should “feel the full force of the law", reported The Guardian.
According to the police, the number of reported attacks with corrosive liquids in London rose from 261 in 2015 to 454 in 2016.

I thought acid attacks were restricted to India, Pakistan and Bangladesh, but even the English have picked it up. So sad.

The arrested boy cannot be named by media on British soil, the British laws are only applicable on British soil not in any other part of the world so let the world know this little monster by name and even by pic...

All those making funny ignorant comments, don't know the reasons why acid attacks have risen. To curb gang related crimes the government made strong anti-knives rules and stricter punishments for that. Same gangsters and criminals to avoid strict punishments have started acid attacks. Now the law makers are talking to amend laws and make acid attacks punishable with life long imprisonment. Also to restrict acid sale.
However, Pakistan's acid attacks are linked to honour killings and laws are lenient enough that one can get away and perpetrators are never caught unlike London's police who do manage to catch and charge the suspects and ultimately punish them.

@ukz. In London acid attack is a criminal act punishable by law and not condoned by the British culture or its law enforcement institutions.

They should NAME and SHAME these hooligans regardless of their ages .They should be punished so they the victims can have a little peace knowing the punishment been served to these lower class monsters.

In my opinion this young fellow HAS TO BE mentally disturbed to be dousing people, not even known to him, in corrosive liquids. he would need long term psychiatric counseling rather than punishment.

@arfan In developed countries minors are not tried as adults for a good reason. The fact that they are minors. The law sees that their ability to engage in crime is not the same as an adult and they are for good reason of reform punished with lesser degree. Imagine your own child as 15 year old would you want them to be punished enough but reform and be part of society. You see this is why a 12 year old is not given a death sentence. He is not considered capable of forming a severe enough intent. Please grow up and think. May the world live in peace.
