‘Youth should be educated about culture’

ISLAMABAD: State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb on Friday said that the youth should be educated about history and culture of Pakistan to make them proud of their country.

Speaking at the launching ceremony of logo for the 70th Independence Day Celebrations, held at Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA) on Friday.

About 400 entries from 200 artists were received for the logo and the designs were judged by the competent jury team. A BSc student of National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) won the competition.

Ms Aurangzeb said that the culture plays a vital role in bringing nations of the world closer to each other.

Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique highlighted the role of youth in making Pakistan prosperous. He urged the youth to work hard for the future of Pakistan.

“We are proud of our people as Pakistanis are playing leading role in all sphere of life all over the world,” he said.

Director General PNCA Jamal Shah while explaining the logo competition said that government was making special efforts in promoting art and artists of the country.

He also spoke about cultural caravan which would start from Urumqi, China and end at Gawadar Pakistan.

The cultural caravan will consist of artists, film makers, artisans, singer, anthropologists and journalists.
