TANK: A constable was shot dead by unidentified motorcyclists on Station Road in Tank city here on Monday.

Farhan was going on the road when the masked men travelling on a motorcycle opened fire on him. He died instantly. The attackers escaped the area after the incident.

The police reached the site soon after the incident and cordoned off the area. The body was shifted to the district headquarters hospital for autopsy.

The police registered a case against unidentified motorcyclists and started efforts to arrest the culprits.

Meanwhile, at least 24 people were injured when a pickup overturned near Katkot on Pezu road on Monday.

Officials said that six of the injured were in critical condition and they were shifted to DHQ hospital Dera Ismail Khan.

Police said that the vehicle was going from Gabar Alikhel to Manzai. Of the 24 injured, 17 men were those who were going to Manzai to appear in a test for recruitment in FC.
