Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) on Saturday announced new office bearers following the recently held intra-party elections which saw Imran Khan being re-elected as party chairman.

In a notification, released on the directives of chairman Imran Khan and signed by PTI Secretary General Jehangir Tareen, 21 new office bearers have been announced. Party members who contested elections against the Imran Khan-led Insaf panel in intra-party elections have also been given important positions.

Provincial Minister for Education Atif Khan has been anointed the party's additional secretary general, while Dr Shahzad Wasim has been appointed secretary foreign affairs.

According to the notification, the Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly has been appointed the central senior vice president of KP, while Shibli Faraz will serve as the party's secretary of defence affairs.

MNA Murad Saaed will hold the deputy secretary general (DSG) office in KP while Imran Ismail will be the DSG in Sindh.

PTI's intra-party elections had saw a dismal voter turnout, with less than 10 per cent of it's registered 2.7 million voters choosing to cast a ballot in the elections.
