SUKKUR: Charas seized, two held

SUKKUR, Aug 7: At least 20 maunds of Charas were recovered from an oil tanker and two people were arrested by the Excise police in the limits of the Tando Masti police station, Khairpur district, on Tuesday.

The Excise police was tipped off that a huge quantity of Charas would be smuggled, so they cordoned off the area.

On Tuesday night, police saw an oil tanker standing near the Jhangal Khan Hotel. They took the oil tanker in custody and arrested its two drivers, Younus Khan and Niaz, both residents of Peshawar.

On searching the oil tanker, at least 20 maunds of Charas were recovered which were concealed in hidden cavities. It was learnt that the tanker was headed for Karachi from Peshawar.—BoC
