KARACHI: NJ Punjab beat Garden Fighter 2-0 Sets (20-9, 20-3) to lift the 3rd Abdul Razak Arain Ramzan Night Rocball title 2017 at the Mini Sports Complex Nazimabad here on Monday.

The tournament, which was participated in by twenty teams, was organised by Pakistan Rocball Federation (PRF) in collaboration with Sindh Rocball Association and Sindh Sports Department.

Winner NJ Punjab were given a cash prize of Rs 10,000. Muhammad Ajmal of Sindh Police who scored seven goals including a hat-trick was declared athe best players of tournament and was awarded a bike as well as Rs 5000.

Earlier, in the semifinals, Garden fighter beat Aga Khan Ghykhana, 3-2 (20-12, 20-14, 20-11, 14-20, 15-9) while NJ Punjab beat Ghazi Sports 2-1 ( 20-15,16-20, 20-10).

In the third position match, Ghazi Sports beat Aga Khan Gymkhana 3-2 (12-6, 8-12, 9-12, 12-1, 12-7).

Usman Ijaz Bajwa (PSP) PRF and Saeed Ahmed Arain Chairman PRF were the chief guests at the closing ceremony and distributed the prizes among the teams and players.

Usman announced that the next rocball Ramazan event will see two players getting bikes as well as cash prizes for best team and best player.

Ume Laila Kalsoom, General Secretary PRF, thanked everyone and announced that National Rocball Men and Women Championship will be held in the month of September while Pakistan rocball team will participate in the South Asian Championship at Malaysia in December 2017.
