KARACHI: Sindh Governor Muhammad Zubair inaugurated here on Monday the federal government-funded ‘Abdul Sattar Edhi Interchange’, a component of the Green Line project.

The interchange has been built near the Matric Board Office, Nazimabad, reducing considerably the travel distance and time for commuters.

Mayor Wasim Akhter, Chairman of the Pak Sarzameen Party Mustafa Kamal, Karachi Chief of Jamat-i-Islami Hafiz Naimur Rehman and office-bearers of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz were also present on the occasion.

Speaking at the occasion, the governor said the Green Line was aimed at providing cost-effective, comfortable and efficient transport to the local people. Assuring that the project would be completed within time, he said the work was being undertaken on a day-and-night basis with the motive to ensure reduction in the growing traffic pressure on city roads.

Mentioning that it was being completed with the funding provided by the federal government, the governor said that attention was also being paid to removing the hurdles that in any manner might be delaying the task.

The two-way Abdul Sattar Edhi interchange, he said, would facilitate easy traffic flow at one of the most congested sites and also streamline road infrastructure development under the Green Line scheme.
