KARACHI: A suspected robber, who allegedly shot at and wounded a Careem driver over resistance in Defence Housing Authority on Wednesday, was shot dead in an ‘encounter’, police said.

They added that robbers asked driver Imtiaz Masih to hand over car keys to them near Khayaban-i-Shahbaz, which he refused. The infuriated robbers opened fire on him. In the meantime, police rushed to the spot where an encounter ensued in which suspect Ali Asghar was gunned down. The driver received a bullet wound in leg. He was taken to hospital.
