QUETTA: Security forces claimed to have killed two suspected militants belonging to a banned outfit during an encounter in the Killi Khazi area on Monday.

Official sources said that two unidentified men opened fire when the Frontier Corps (FC) personnel intercepted them for a routine check, resulting in the shootout. Both men were killed during the firing.

The FC personnel shifted the bodies to the civil hospital for medico-legal formalities.

“Two militants of the banned Balochistan Liberation Army were killed in the exchange of fire,” ISPR officials claimed, adding that the suspects were involved in terrorist attacks, kidnapping for ransom, highway robberies and other heinous crimes.
