MUZAFFARABAD: Two civilians were injured in Azad Jammu and Kashmir in unprovoked firing by Indian troops from across the Line of Control (LoC) on Friday.

The casualties occurred in Nezapir sector of Haveli district in the evening, said the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the public affairs wing of the armed forces, in a statement.

Haveli Deputy Com­missioner Chaudhry Kashif identified the victims as Mohammad Sajid and Mohammad Waseem. They were provided treatment at a military-run health facility and were out of danger, he added.

The ISPR said that the Pakistan Army responded to the Indian firing.

On Thursday, two civilians were killed and six wounded in Battal sector of Poonch district.
