New X-Men series The Gifted gets green light

Fox’s new drama The Gifted from Burn Notice creator Matt Nix and X-Men film series director Bryan Singer is all set to premiere in fall.

The Gifted follows two ordinary parents played by Stephen Moyer and Amy Acker, who are on the run

from the government after it’s discovered that their children, Natalie Alyn Lind and Percy Hynes White, have mutant powers.

The family will join an underground mutant resistance that begins to fight back in order to survive.

Other cast includes Sean Teale as Eclipse/Marcos Diaz, Jamie Chung as Blink/Clarice Fong, Coby Bell as Jace Turner, Emma Dumont as Polaris/Lorna Dane and Blair Redford as Thunderbird/John Proudstar.

Lightning McQueen faces new rival in latest Cars 3 trailer

The two-minute clip of Disney-Pixar Cars 3 showcases “the rivalry between Lightning McQueen and his latest rival, up-and-coming racer Jackson Storm,” the studio said in a message accompanying the teaser.

Owen Wilson reprises his role of McQueen, while Armie Hammer lends his voice to Storm. The animated auto adventure was directed by Brian Fee and is to open in theatres on June 16. The voice cast also includes Cristela Alonzo, Larry the Cable Guy, Bonnie Hunt, Cheech Marin, Jenifer Lewis, John Ratzenberger and Paul Dooley.
