PESHAWAR: A police official from Peshawar city has been missing for about a week in Karachi, police said here on Wednesday.

Officials said former SHO Phandu police station, Sajjad Khan, had gone to Karachi from Islamabad airport on May 18, but he disappeared afterwards.

Mathra police station has registered an initial report on the complaint of his father, Aminullah.

A senior police official said that they had obtained his travel record; however, there was no clue about his whereabouts.

The official said that Mr Khan switched off his cell phone after arriving in Karachi and then disappeared. Separately, a man was killed and a lady health worker sustained injuries when assailants opened fire on a vehicle in the limits of Regi police station.

The slain was a driver and was taking LHV home. Mohammad Nabi, the victim’s father, told police that Raz Mohammad and his cousin opened fire and killed his son, Dilawar Khan. He said that they had a dispute with the accused.
