KARACHI: Promising Bilal Islam and Zaynab Khan excelled as the Karachi Grammar School (KGS) grabbed two of the four titles in the inaugural National Bank of Pakistan (NBP)-Sindh Squash Association (SSA) Inter-school squash championship which concluded at the PSF Jahangir Khan Squash Complex, housed at the PSB Coaching Centre, on Wednesday.

Bilal, who overcome Obaidullah Rasheed in the semi-final the other day took just 15 minutes to dispose of Fawaz Asim of The City School 11-4, 11-4, 11-1 to annex the boys under-17 title.

Similarly, fresh from her semi-final triumph over Sara Haq on Tuesday, Zaynab proved too good by inflicting straight 11-2, 11-3, 11-5 defeat on Aina Sheikh of the Beacon House School to clinch the girls under-15 crown. She won the duel in 12 minutes.

The boys under-13 title went to Hurraira Zafar of the FDC Faisal who got the better of Shayyan Adnan of the Beacon House School 11-2, 11-1, 11-5 in the title clash.

Fazaia Inter-college Malir’s Ammar Ali claimed the boys under-11 title by registering 11-2, 11-6, 11-4 victory over M. Zaman of the St. Michael’s School.

Executive Vice President and head of the NBP Sports Division, Ovais Asad Khan, who graced the finals, gave away the prizes. SSA secretary Rashid Ahmed was also present on the occasion.

Boys under-11: Ammar Ali (Fazaia Inter College Malir) bt M.Zaman (St Michael School) 11-2, 11-6, 11-4

Boys under-13: Hurraira Zafar (F.D.C Faisal Karachi) bt Shayyan Adnan (Beacon House School) 11-2, 11-1, 11-5

Boys under-17: Bilal Islam (Karachi Grammar School) bt Fawaz Asim (The City School) 11-4, 11-4, 11-1

Girls under-15: Zaynab Khan (Karachi Grammar School) bt Aina Sheikh (Beacon House School) 11-2, 11-3, 11-5.
