ISLAMABAD: The bodies of a woman and two children were found in Rawal Dam on Thursday, the police said.

According to police officials, the cause of death seems to be drowning and it is suspected the woman and her children, a boy and a girl, committed suicide.

Passersby had seen the bodies on the dam’s shore and informed the police who took the bodies to the hospital for completing legal formalities.

The police recovered a handbag from one of the bodies as well which contained a tablet and some papers one of which had four names and contact numbers.

The bodies were identified as that of 34-year-old Sumaira Adnan, 7-year-old Chaudhry Balag and three-year-old Jawauna. The police said they were from Mohallah Rajput Chaklala, Rawalpindi. The woman’s family was informed who told the police her husband had passed away a month ago and that she had been in shock since.
