ISLAMABAD, Aug 2: The Senate secretariat has said it plans to embark on a comprehensive e-government project aimed at facilitating the parliamentarians and ensuring greater participation of citizens with a view to bring transparency in the working of the parliament.

A press release said the project had been designed in a way under which senators would have access to information on the working of the house, viz debates, questions, bills, proceedings and other legislative activities in their offices and workplaces.

The senate website will disseminate information on the working of the house and legislative proceedings to the public and the people will become aware of the new laws, bills and current legislative process.
