KARACHI: Survey of losses ordered

Published August 3, 2003

KARACHI, Aug 2: The Sindh relief commissioner has asked district coordination officers in the province to immediately constitute committees in consultation with legislators, army authorities, district Nazims and other elected representatives for carrying out survey of the damage caused by the rains and floods.

The survey is aimed at estimating actual requirement of funds with regard to the compensation for loss of life and property besides relief goods for the affected people.

The federal and provincial governments would be requested to release the funds on the basis of the survey report.

The DCOs have been asked to assign top priority to the matter and submit their reports without any delay.—PPI/APP
