RAWALPINDI: An 18-year-old woman was allegedly killed by her uncle on Friday in Fauji Colony, Pirwadhai, when her father turned down his offer of her marrying his son.

The deceased was engaged to Wajid, a son of her uncle, who is suspected of having killed her.

However, her father refused to marry her off to Wajid as he had polio.

According to preliminary investigations, the victim’s father, Khalid Khan, had broken off the engagement and promised his daughter to a son of his younger brother.

Khalid found his daughter dead in her room on Friday and he said in his statement that two of his brothers who lived in the same house as him had told him that their brother had killed his daughter and fled.

The police said the victim’s body was handed over to her parents after a post-mortem was conducted and an investigation was launched.
