LAHORE: Former president Asif Ali Zardari arrived in Lahore from Karachi on Friday evening.

He was received by senior PPP leaders Qamar Zaman Kaira, Chaudhry Manzoor and Azizur Rehman Chan at the airport.

Immediate after his arrival, he was driven to Bilawal House in Bahria Town.

Party officials say Mr Zardari will hold important meetings on Saturday and Sunday, particularly with central Punjab and Lahore leadership, to buck them up on holding a successful show against the government on loadshedding issue.

He is scheduled to visit Pattoki and Kasur on Saturday to condole with former MPA Asif Nakai on the death of the latter’s mother.

An official said that he may also go to Faisalabad to inquire after the health of former minister Faisal Saleh Hayat, who was injured in a road accident the other day.
