Bribe allegation: Shahbaz serves notice on Imran

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has served a legal notice on Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf chairman Imran Khan for levelling a “baseless” allegation of offering him bribe of Rs10 billion to remain silent on Panama case.

“The chief minister has served a legal notice on him (Imran Khan) which he will receive in a couple of days,” Punjab government spokesman Malik Muhammad Ahmed told a press conference here on Thursday.

Mr Khan has recently claimed that a “common friend” made an offer of Rs10bn to him on behalf of Shahbaz Sharif and Hamza Shahbaz.

Criticising the PPP for holding a protest camp at Nasser Bagh against loadshedding, Malik Ahmed said: “Ours [protest camp] at Minar-i-Pakistan was different from PPP’s because we were protesting against non-delivery [of PPP regime] and PPP is doing so on our delivery. There has been no comparison of loadshedding between the PPP’s and PML-N’s governments.”

This is right approach by Shahbaz. Dont know when our culture will end the allegations leveling. IK was saying about 35 punctures and made so many allegations. If any prove IK should present to court like in Panama case.

All political bluster for public consumption. If it had been me, I would've served notice the next day on IK, if the allegations were unfounded.... They waited almost a week, says it all.

Legal notice is another word for threatening letter. The respondent can easily ignore it. Shahbaz should stop beating around the bush and file a case. Dont know why shahbaz is wasting time with useless letters.

As far the notice is concerned its all political point scoring of serving a notice after 3 weeks .... while load shedding ... wasn't it mr cm ... who said load shedding will end in 6 months & then 12 months & then 2 years & wasn't it that i will change my name etc .... load shedding is more then what it was before & its the weather is pleasant .. let the summer show its muscles ... then PMLN fake claims will be fully exposed

Why is the government spokesman involved when the legal notice seems to be regarding a personal dispute between Khan and Sharif? Khan named Sharif in his allegation and not the government. Government machinery should not be used for personal disputes

A good move by SS, IK despite his favourable backing from many is now a disaster. His latest suspense need to be taken to its logical conclusion so people of Pakistan should know the truth. Who is a bluffer and a liar or criminal.
