ISLAMABAD: Polo enthusiasts enjoyed an exciting final at the Islamabad Club polo ground on Sunday, as they witnessed the performance of the winning team, PBG Kalabagh-4.

Kalabagh-4 crushed Asean Black in thefinal for the Serena Hotels Polo Cup 2017. The winning team consists of Asfandyar Khan, Maj Faizan, Raja Sami and Dafadar Saqib. Mr Sami, in particular, played brilliantly and scored seven goals.

Asean Black’s players included Argentinean coach and player Matias de Olmos, Hashim Asad, Bilal Haye and Shoukat Ali Malik.

Asean Black performed well in the first chukker, which Mr de Olmos scoring three goals to Kalabagh’s two. In the next chukker, both teams scored one goal each.

However, Asean Black could not maintain their lead in the third chukker, with Mr Sami scoring three goals and giving his team a one goal lead.

Kalabagh dominated the final chukker and scored four more goals, finished with 10 and a half goals to Asean Black’s five. At the start of the match, Kalabagh was given a half goal lead because their opposing team included some of the strongest polo players.

Polo enthusiasts, diplomats, government officials, heads of corporations and dignitaries attended the final.
