A 35-year-old mother of four was allegedly murdered by her younger brother in a suspected 'honour killing' on Wednesday in Sindh's Sanghar district, police said.

Qurban Ali Shar allegedly strangled his elder sister, Sabhagi Shar, on the suspicion that she was having an affair with a man, Station House Officer (SHO) Shahpur Chakar Mohammad Ishaq Sangrasi said.

Ali Shar later surrendered to police and confessed to the crime, police said.

The body of the victim has been transferred to Shahdadpur Taluka hospital for a postmortem examination, the SHO added.

He added that if the victim's husband, Mohammad Juman, who works in a factory in Karachi, failed to register a case, a First Information Report would be registered on behalf of the state.
