TB diagnosis

Published April 24, 2017

THIS is apropos the report ‘TB diagnosis centres set up in 27 districts’ (April 14). Balochistan is a little backward among all the provinces in the field of education, healthcare facilities, etc. Therefore, it is a good effort on the part of Health Minister Rehmat Saleh Baloch to establish TB diagnosis centres in 27 districts of Balochistan.

TB, which is caused by mycobacterium tuberculosis bacterium, usually affects lungs. It is spread through air when an infected person coughs up, sneezes, talks or laughs. TB is contagious.

Since measures to control such a deadly disease are needed, the government should take healthcare measures in areas which need them the most.
