LAHORE: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif says looters of national resources deserve severe punishment for causing loss to the national exchequer in the name of development.

“The corrupt mafia, with the help of unscrupulous elements in the government, looted development funds mercilessly during the era of the former rulers and they would realise the gravity of their crime when they would face imprisonment,” he was quoted as telling a PML-N delegation here on Sunday. He alleged that supporters of Pervez Musharraf had given contract of treasures of Chiniot to their favourite company without any tenders.

He claimed that completion of ongoing energy projects would eliminate loadshedding by the end of this year.
