THE GRAPEVINE: Cowardly Ivanka

Published April 23, 2017

The scrumptious-looking Scarlett Johansson can be a straight-shooter. She calls it as she sees it. So when she impersonated US President Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka on the TV show Saturday Night Live, she knew that the first daughter would react to it.

And react she did, during an interview with CBS, by saying that she advocates privately for issues she cares for and urged ‘not to conflate lack of public denouncement with silence.’ This infuriated Scarlett J. She commented: “You can’t have it both ways. If you take a job as a public advocate then you must advocate publically.” She also called Ivanka T ‘cowardly’ for being circumspect by keeping her opinions behind closed doors.

Well, Scarlett J, trust me, it’s far better for the Trumps to do things behind closed doors. Their ‘open doors’ goings-on might put an end to Saturday Night Live and other comedy programmes.

Clearly, something has changed since for this step to have been taken and there are shifts in the balance of power within.
