DERA GHAZI KHAN: Four children died when a fire devastated a wheat field in Arain village near Jhoke Uttra town on Tuesday. Six goats were also killed in the incident.

According to the Rescue 1122 personnel, the fire destroyed more than 30 acres of the wheat crop ready to be harvested.

Some people, however, said the crop was being harvested when the fire erupted. The flames raged through the dry field within no time and four children who were playing there were caught up in the fire.

The names of the children who died in the incident were Shakeel, 4, Jalil, 2, Samina, 5, and Sahira, 5.

It took the Rescue 1122 team two hours to put out the fire. The Kot Chutta police said they were investigating the cause of the fire.
