QUETTA: Paramedics from several districts of the province will commence a long march on April 17 (today) called by the Balochistan Paramedical Staff Association (BPSA) in support of their demands.

Speaking at a press conference here on Sunday, representatives of the Secretariat Staff Association, All Pakistan Clerks Association, Professors and Lecturers Association and Government Teachers Association said: “Our leaders don’t even pay attention to our problems... problems which we have been facing for several years.” They added that as a result the government sector was not flourishing and “negligence of the rulers is pushing our society toward anarchy”.

They claimed that the provincial government of Balochistan had not filled vacancies in many years.

BPSA Chairman Mohammad Tariq Kadizai said that they had boycotted the upcoming three-day polio campaign. He regretted this but added that non-technical persons were going to administer polio drops to children “which has failed 25 per cent”. On the other hand, he added that the technical persons or paramedics had been compelled to boycott the anti-polio drive for the purpose of attaining their basic and fundamental rights.
