Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh A.D. Khawaja on Friday said he held no grudges against the provincial government over his “attempted” removal from the post and since the matter was pending before the court now, so he can’t further comment on the issue.

Khawaja said this during his visit to Tando Ghulam Ali and Matli town where he inaugurated a police station and a reporting centre, respectively.

The Sindh IG said that as long as he was at the helm of affairs, he will continue to dispense his duties with utmost honesty and would leave no stone unturned in serving the people of the province.

He further said that he will act upon the “court orders regarding his future posting or removal from the post”.

The Sindh police chief noted that he had always made sincere efforts to boost the morale of his subordinates so that they can perform their duties on merit and without coming under anyone’s influence.

Khawaja said he was proud that people were supporting his efforts to purge the police officials, from top to SHO level, off the political influence.

Replying to a question, the Sindh IG said police department was spending 85 per cent of its funds on the salaries of police personnel, adding that he was “opening the reporting centers in all the police stations across the province”.

He admitted that there was a lot that still needed to be done to improve the policing system at the police station level.

Earlier, Khawaja along with DIG Hyderabad Khadim Hussain Rind had inaugurated the new building of Tando Ghulam Ali police station.
