Musical instruments

Published April 8, 2017

These days many schools are offering children a chance to learn music and participate in music related activities. Often children display a liking for one or more musical instruments, this provides them with a healthy activity besides their studies. But knowing which musical instrument interests you the most is necessary before making the choice of learning or buying one.

So if you are a music lover, you’ll find Virtual music instruments, an interesting site to pass your time while playing different instruments online and knowing about them.

The site offers just a few most popular and common instruments such as guitar, piano, pan flute, drums and bongo.

Click on any of the instruments and a new page opens with your chosen instrument in the centre, while instructions are in a box besides it. You can play the instrument with your PC keyboard and mouse control as the interface. The instruction box stays there for you to keep track of the keys and notes that are being played. Simple as that!

Another similar site for music lovers, music-instruments-online.narod.ru, has almost the same instruments but with the exception of pan flute and bongo. However, this site offers harp. The good thing is you can play harp in three different modes or tunings. The Dorian mode is grounding like the Stonehenge; the Aeolian mode is serene and soulful, while the Mixolydian mode will take you to the Celtic isles, as the site quotes. You can either play the tunes yourself or mix them with the site’s already made melodies which is quite fun.

Both the sites are great in creating tunes on different musical instruments but they lack an option to record what you play, which is rather sad.
