PORT OF SPAIN: Pakis­tan took a 2-0 lead in the four-match Twenty20 series against the West Indies after winning the second game by three runs at Port of Spain, Trinidad, on Thursday.

Pakistan were all out for 132 in their 20 overs after the Caribbeans put them in to bat. Shoaib Malik, Babar Azam and Wahab Riaz made valuable contributions by scoring 28, 27 and 24 runs respectively.

West Indies were unable to mount a decent run chase as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Marlon Samuels (44) was the only one in the top order to post a substantial score.

New spin sensation Shadab Khan kept the Windies batsmen in check with another heartening, match-winning spell of 4-14.

Sunil Narine lifted the Caribbeans’ spirit in the last over by hitting two boundaries off the first two deliveries. But it was not enough to pull off a victory, with Windies finishing three runs short at 129 for 8.

The third match of the series will be played on Saturday (April 1).
