KOHAT: A girl was kidnapped from Togh Bala by a gang by attracting her through a young man for a marriage, police said.

A police spokesman said that one Sabir Shah reported to Mohammad Riaz Shaheed police station that his daughter had been abducted by Mst Jafri Bibi, Abid, and Ali Niaz, residents of Sargodha, Muzaffargarh and Karachi, respectively.

The accused had settled here for sometime whereas Niaz worked as a labourer in the area and established relationship with the girl.

The spokesman said that Sabir waited for two days for his daughter’s return, but was now filing the report because he was sure that she had been kidnapped by the gang.

The police have registered the case.

Meanwhile, police registered a case against an accused for assaulting a boy on Wednesday.

Gumbat police said that one Phool Badshah of Khadarkhel reported that his son, 15, had been molested by one Zoheb.

The police took the boy to the hospital where doctors confirmed the charge of molestation.

The police registered a case against the accused and launched search for his arrest.

In another case, unknown thieves looted a medicine company’s warehouse in cantonment plaza here by breaking its locks.

The police said that according to an FIR registered by owner Ikramullah Khan the thieves took away 14 cartons of costly medicines.
