ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) ordered on Wednesday the removal of the names of five directors of software company Axact from the Exit Control List (ECL).

The government in May 2015 placed the Axact officials’ names on the ECL in connection with selling of bogus degrees of non-chartered universities.

IHC Justice Athar Minallah ordered the removal of the names of the firm’s Chief Executive Officer Shuaib Sheikh, Director Ayesah Shuaib and others from the ECL.

The order said the interior ministry could not satisfy the court regarding any lawful or valid reason for refusing to remove the names of the petitioners from the ECL.
