IT was shocking to watch on a private TV channel a supposedly funny joke about our late governor-general and prime minister, Khwaja Nazimuddin, with a grotesque Queen Elizabeth.
It showed a letter sent by Khwaja Nazimuddin to the then prime minister informing the queen of his removal from office and asking her to reinstall him.
Before putting such a sick joke on a TV programme without confirming or verifying the information is the lowest form of journalism or entertainment for viewers on such a large-scale.
They can refer to a book written by Alqama Khairuddin where they can read the letter written by Khwaja Nazimuddin to the queen on some British laws to be changed by Pakistan for adoption by the government.
The programme in any case was in bad taste, and the woman’s continuous stupid shrilling laughter added to the vulgarity of the programme.
