He expressed the pleasure that the final meeting of the National Curriculum Revision Committee in the discipline of tourism and hospitality had just concluded.
“The course is very comprehensive and will not only help students in developing and understanding the key issues of tourism but also support the tourism industry with quality manpower of international standards.”
The PTDC chief said the curriculum was equally diverse, allowing students to master the professional skills needed for success in the field of tourism and hospitality. They will also gain specialised knowledge and relevant practical experience through internship.
He said the degree in hospitality and tourism would include a wide range of other subjects mentioned in the fifth and seventh semesters.
“Covering multiple subjects in one degree will not only make it more interesting to study but it will also help students broaden their knowledge and develop new skills,” he added.
He suggested the constitution of a think-tank on the subject of tourism and hospitality consisting of tourism professionals and professors of the subject.
