KARACHI: The former Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Federation (PBSF) president Alamgir Shaikh was conferred with the Pride of Performance award on Thursday in recognition of services to the game.
The award was conferred by President Mamnoon Hussain at the investiture ceremony held in Islamabad.
It is pertinent to mention that two former world amateur snooker champions — Mohammad Yousuf and Mohammad Asif — have already been bestowed with the Pride of Performance by the government in the past.
During his eight-year stint at the helm of PBSF, Alamgir Shaikh took the game to new heights as the country’s cueists won 27 medals including six gold, seven silver and fourteen bronze.
