The hotel where you decide the view

The Dynamic Tower Hotel, Dubai which has been in the works since 2008, will finally be completed in 2020. The skyscraper will be able to rotate 360 degrees, so the view will change endlessly for residents inside.

Units will be built on separate floors of the 1,375foot-tall, 80-story building, with each rotating independently around the structure’s concrete centre at the command of voice-activated control by the residents. The building will also feature wind turbines positioned horizontally between each floor and solar panels on the roof, which will allow it to be completely self-powered.

The Dynamic Group claims that the landmark will offer a ‘wellness experience’ rather than simply work as a hotel. Nine years ago Israeli-Italian architect David Fisher created the design with the idea that ‘the motionless state of today’s houses does not reflect people’s actual lives, where everything is constantly changing’.

He believes that hotels and homes should be able to ‘move following the sun or the wind, and adjust to their tenants’ life and mood’.

Each of the towers have been designed with swimming pools, gardens and even lifts for cars meaning people can park outside their flats.

Order pizza with just the tap of a foot!

Do you find dialling the number of your local takeaway a chore? Is clicking a button to order food online just at little too laborious?

Well help is finally at hand, courtesy some bizarre new shoes that allow customers to order a pizza with the tap of a foot.

Pizza Hut’s ‘Pie Tops’ are kitted out with a button for summoning pizza, using geolocation to connect the wearer to their nearest branch and link up with an app to place a pre-designated order.

The bad news is that only 64 of the limited-edition trainers have been made and will only be given to people considered to be ‘influencers’.

Hand-stitched by Dominic Chambrone, also known as the Shoe Surgeon, the shoes will be released to coincide with the annual NCAA basketball tournament in the US.

The sixty-four pairs were made to match the 64 teams in the field.

Retired basketball player Grant Hill is among the first to get his feet on a pair. In an advert for the shoes, he said: “There comes a time when the hard way is the only way. Ordering Pizza Hut is not that time. When I want to order a large pizza from Pizza Hut, I can order from my Pizza Hut Pie Tops. Easy as pie.”

But most of us, for now at least, will have to stick to lifting a finger — rather than a foot — to order pizza.

Girl wears Miss Universe contestant’s dress to prom

Fifteen-year-old Zhyra Nicole Cifra couldn’t afford to buy a dress for her prom. After struggling to get the money together, she stumbled across a Facebook post by Violina Ancheva — otherwise known as Miss Bulgaria.

She was offering to donate the dress she wore to compete in the 65th Miss Universe pageant to a girl for her prom. So, despite the fact the post ended up gathering thousands of responses, her mother decided to give it a shot. And after explaining her circumstances, among the messages sent to Violina, Zhyra was picked as the dress’ lucky recipient.

And on the prom day, Violina uploaded photos of Zhyra and herself wearing the dress side by side. ‘Today is a big day for me! It’s Zhyra’s prom,’ she wrote in the post.
