Lyari Expressway

Published March 21, 2017

INSTEAD of initiating grandiose schemes, the authorities should utilise the existing infrastructure. The Lyari Expressway’s north-bound track is incomplete owing to encroachments.

Until it is completed, the tidal flow principle could be adopted by using the completed section for reverse use in the evening hours. Secondly, a revival of the Karachi Circular Railway will benefit more than triple the number of passengers compared with the greenline metro bus project.

Finally, the Korangi industrial area main road should be used for bus lanes, while link roads can connect Korangi Road with Sharea Faisal at four to five points.
