RAWALPINDI: The Namaz-i-Janaza of Lt Khawar and Naik Shahzad, who had died in a clash during an intelligence-based operation in the Jani Khel area of Bannu Frontier Region, was offered on Friday at Peshawar garrison.

According to ISPR, the military’s public relations wing, four terrorists were killed in the clash that took place in Mullagano on Thursday. The action was part of the Operation Raddul Fasaad.

Corps Commander Lt Gen Nazir Ahmed Butt, Amy Air Defence Commander Lt Gen Zahid Latif and other military and civil officers and soldiers attended the funeral prayers.

The bodies were sent to the native areas of the deceased for burial with full military honours.

The Inter-Services Public Relations director general quoted Chief of Army Staff Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa as saying: “Salute to our martyrs. Our life and blood is for Pakistan. Nothing is nobler than laying one’s life in defence of the motherland.”
