Nigar awards announced

Published February 26, 2017

After a hiatus of more than 15 years, next month the country’s most prestigious film awards, Nigar, will resume honouring actors and technicians from the film industry for their outstanding performances next month. The nominations for the year 2016 have been announced. They contain a stellar lineup of artists, directors, producers and technical staff who have done noteworthy work in their respective fields. Of course, Actor-in-Law features heavily in the nominations, grabbing a dozen or so nominations, including Nabeel Qureshi in the best director category and Fahad Mustafa in the best actor category. Fahad M has also been named in the same group for his acting in Mah-i-Mir. Another good thing for which the Nigar management should be commended: it has on its list similar categories for Pashto films as well. So, good job sires! Looking forward to seeing what happens on the award night. Or what doesn’t happen.
