LAHORE: Another injured person in the Charing Cross, The Mall suicide blast died at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital on Friday, raising the death toll to 15.

Ali Raza, a chemist, was protesting against the drugs act in front of the Punjab Assembly when a suicide bomber blew himself up, killing 14 people, including two senior police officers. More than 80 others, including Raza, suffered injuries and were shifted to hospitals.

Raza remained in the surgical ward of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital for four days where he died due to injuries on Friday evening. Police shifted the body to morgue for autopsy and later handed it over to the family after completing legal formalities.

More than 50 other people who suffered injuries in the blast were still in hospitals, while some had been discharged. Police continued search and sweep operations in various areas of the city to arrest members of the Jamaatul Ahrar, which claimed responsibility for the attack.
